Membership dues for attorneys are $200 a year or for $100.00 half year (May 1 - Oct. 31), Premier Memberships are $300 ($200 for half year), a sliding fee schedule based on income is also available. Membership dues for paralegals are $75 ($37.50 for half year) and for law students, $40 (half year $20).
While NBA dues, membership directories and fields of practice listing charges may be deductible as a business expense, these charges are not deductible as charitable contributions for federal income tax purposes. Contributions to the Nashville Bar Foundation are fully deductible as a charitable contribution. The NBA estimates that 2% of your dues are allocable to non-deductible lobbying expenditures. Therefore, 98% of your dues are deductible to the full extent provided by law.
NBA dues year is November 1, 2008 - October 31, 2009.
